AGENTS
|
Insurance business, both Life and Non-Life, is procured through an Individual who is appointed as an Agent. An Agent is a person licensed by the Controller of Insurance to do insurance business. After obtaining the License, Agents have to enroll with the insurance company to be authorised to work as an agent. An Agent is trained and qualified to advice you on which policy is best suited for you.
An Agent helps you:
To select a policy which is best suited to you.
In filling up the Proposal Form.
In submitting the Proposal form to the Insurance Company and delivering the Policy document issued by the Insurance Company.
To remind you from time to time about when you are supposed to pay the premiums, or renewals.
In completing the formalities for the Claims.
The Regulations do not confer any authority on the Agent to collect any money or to accept any risk on behalf of the Insurance Company. If an Agent collects any premium from any Policyholder, he is doing so as an agent of the Policyholder.
